After thinking about this for a while, I’ve decided to separate the topics of my blog by making a professional blog. The AlnAndr Blog will remain a personal blog where I talk about my feelings and opinions.
So with that aside, I introduce to you, AllTalkTech. It is your source for open and unbiased articles about technology, just how I’ve had it since the beginning of The AlnAndr Blog. You can now go there to read up on all the tech stories my writer team and I have to offer.
I’ve always thought that my blog should have stayed in a way where only I can edit it and share my feelings and thoughts about many sorts of topics, and you are welcome to read them at anytime. But of course, if you are only here for the tech, then AllTalkTech is now where you want to go.
P.S: Give us a few days while we completely transition the tech part of my blog over there. It unfortunately doesn’t happen overnight.
Update: Thanks to everyone who chimed in about the AdSense issue with the mobile version of the blog. It has been fixed.
You’ve probably noticed that my blog doesn’t have any interferences. I don’t have a banner full of Google AdSense ads on the side and I certainty don’t popup an offer to “WIN A FREE CAR!!!11!!!!111!111!!” unlike other websites that just want you to visit their blog for the purpose of monetary gain. You might also want to know why I don’t, so I’m willing to briefly explain to you my past successes.
So today, finally my long awaited iPad 3G arrived by the slowest method of package delivery known to man today: UPS Ground. Yes I said it. This service sucks so much, I wish I can just pick up my iPad by pulling over the UPS truck with the cop car that has it and forcing him to give it to me. I mean, I do tend to roll like that. lol.
But before I was successfully able to get my hands on this wonderful product today the 24th of May, I want to count you in with a story that will probably pick your balls up (if you have any) and throw you to the point where they break off your a**s. Anywho, back to the story.
Yes, I gave in. Last Thursday, I headed into what seemed to be an abandoned Best Buy (it was near closing time) just to walk into the Apple Shop and ask for a 16GB WiFi iPad for purchase. Within 5 minutes, I received my purchase ticket, went into the Geek Squad order pickup register to pay for the iPad ($499.99 + 8.25% tax = $541.24), and then picked it up at the front of the store with the Loss Prevention employees in yellow.
I head home and decided to just make a quick amateur unboxing of the iPad, so here it is. I’ll have more on this device later as I get to play around with it more.
Spring Break has officially started for me, so I wanted to quickly let everyone know about what is coming up ahead. First of all, a series of new YouTube videos that I have been editing will be uploaded to the channel throughout Spring Break. Also, let me give you a nice hint that an awesome giveaway is coming up that will be held simultaneously on my YouTube channel, my Twitter account, and of course, The AlnAndr Blog. Stay tuned for more!
And also, I, along with a buddy of mine, will be announcing something big sometime next week. Make sure to keep it locked.
If you’re a regular user on Facebook like myself, you are most likely familiar with all of the groups and pages your Facebook friends are joining all the time. Your Facebook requests are filled with group invites related to a pointless sentence, topic, or even a person. Continue reading →
With the recent announcement and unveiling of Apple’s iPad, many concerns about the productivity and cost of ownership of the new 9.7-inch multitouch tablet popped up in flares on blogs, Twitter accounts, and the media. Of course, this isn’t the first time some anticipated new product gets some negative reception. Many other products released in the past, name any company, have been judged with flaws, imperfections, and justified failure. This gets me back to the release of the first-generation iPhone in 2007. The cynicism was all over the polluted air: “How can a smartphone so advanced not have 3G support? Why can I not send MMS to others? Did it really have to be AT&T? Why is the headphone jack recessed?” and so many other questions were asked about it.
At 12:01 AM on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, the “Alan A. Garcia Social Networking Revolution Pact of 2010″ was signed into effect. The pact emphasizes the constant-evolving world of social networking on the World Wide Web and makes gradual changes to how the Internet evolves into newer, more popular social mediums over time.
The Alan A. Garcia Social Networking Revolution Pact of 2010 immediately approves and brings the following statements, events, and notices to effect without question.
1.) My Bebo account has been dated for permanent deletion on June 22, 2010, my 17th birthday. Before the account is deleted, a mass announcement will be sent out to everyone notifying of the account closure, and where I may now be found online (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
- All content on this Bebo account, including photos, videos, and other media WILL be backed up before deletion to a portable hard drive. You have until June 22, 2010 to make a copy of any of my photos in this Bebo account that you would like to pertain.
- After the Bebo account is deleted, under this pact, I am no longer to ever create another account that relates to or is directly affiliated with Bebo.
- This pact is not a court order by a judge or a decision made by law enforcement. It has been made by Alan A. Garcia’s personal decision.
REASON: Bebo is a failing social network. Ever since my account creation in 2005, I have seen the popularity of this website plummet as the originality of Bebo became to decay. The original logic of what Bebo was for has now transformed into something that is without question an ultimate failure for the social network. I can’t see it make it through this new decade, as Facebook and Twitter together are striving to emerge as powerful social networks of the new decade. I’ve also had mixed feelings for Bebo ever since AOL acquired it a few years ago. It just isn’t the same when a large company acquires such an amazing startup. R.I.P Bebo.
2.) With this new pact, the status of the following social networking websites will change.
( example SocialNetwork: (old status) –> (new status) )
Bebo: Fair –> Obsolete (lowered)
MySpace: Excellent –> Great (lowered)
Facebook: Good –> Excellent (raised)
Twitter: Start-up –> Excellent (raised)
MyYearbook: Good –> Fair (Obsolete in question)
YouTube: Great –> Excellent (raised)
Flickr: Excellent
Last.fm: Good –> Great (raised)
Windows Live Spaces: Fair
3.) With this new pact, the tier-ing of social networking sites will change. The first tier ranks the top social networks, with the last year ranking the worst social networks.
1st Tier:
Facebook
Twitter
MySpace (under questioning to lower to 2nd tier in next pact)
2nd Tier:
YouTube
Flickr
Last.fm
Windows Live Spaces
3rd Tier:
MyYearbook
Bebo
4.) In amendment of statement #1, the following accounts for the following social networks will be deleted within 90 days:
MyYearbook
5.) All statements in this pact are to be left unchanged.
6.) The monitoring of the MySpace social network will be elevated and put on frequent watch. The once-popular social network to teenagers and child predators (sarcasm) is also being predicting to plummet during the new decade, although many people still use the social network as of today.
7.) No more statements may be added to this pact beyond this point.
This might come sound a bit late, but I would like to quickly wish everyone a Happy New Year 2010 and I hope everyone has a healthy and prosperous year.
As for me, I am planning lots of events to happen in 2010 on both my YouTube channel and this recently started blog. One of my resolutions is to become a more active YouTuber and to provide more suitable tech-related content in the future.
Enjoy your weekend, and once again, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
